Isis sex slave ‘kidnapped’ by Walthamstow jihadi Siddhartha Dhar

A Yazidi teenager who was held as a sex slave by Islamic State says she was kidnapped and trafficked by Walthamstow jihadi Siddhartha Dhar.

Nihad Barakat, now 17, was captured along with 27 members of her family by fighters from the terrorist group in Sinjar, Iraq, two years ago.

In an interview with British Muslim TV, Ms Barakat said Dhar had played a key role in her imprisonment and forced marriage to Australian extremist Abdul Salam Mahmoud.

The teenager was beaten and raped multiple times, falling pregnant after one of the attacks.

She was able to escape after Mahmoud was killed in Syria, but was re-captured outside Kirkuk while trying to make contact with her family.

She has since escaped again, aided by Canadian charity CYCI, which uses local agents to smuggle Yazidis being held by Islamic State to safety.

Ms Barakat said: “When I was captured near Kirkuk, they took me to another leader from Mosul. His name was Abu Dhar.

“He also took Yazidi girls for himself. Every day he would tell me that I had to marry another man.”

It is believed the man Ms Barakat referred to as “Abu Dhar” is Siddhartha Dhar, who has now reportedly become one of Islamic State’s senior commanders.

The 32-year-old, who took the name Abu Rumaysah after converting to Islam, fled to Syria with his wife and four children in 2014.

While living in Walthamstow, he became a close associate of Islamist cleric Anjem Choudhary and was a founding member of Islam4UK.

Before his escape to Syria, he had been arrested on suspicion of encouraging terrorism as part of a probe into the banned extremist group al-Muhajiroun, which was led by Choudhary.

He was ordered to hand in his passport, but left London on a coach to Paris.

Dhar was dubbed “the new Jihadi John”, after it was claimed he was the masked executioner in an Islamic State video showing the murder of five hostages in January.
