Montreal Man Is Rescuing Women And Children From Being Sold As Sex Slaves In Iraq

A campaign has been launched by a Montreal man named Steve Maman. The car salesman was doing business in Iraq when he, and some others who had contacts on the ground, devised a plan to free woman and children from being sold as sex slaves.

While in captivity, many of them suffer from abuse and malnutrition, they are held in cages and sold like cattle to Isis fighters and other militants. These children are as young as 8 years old and the brutality they suffer is unimaginable. They spend their lives being bought and sold over and over again.

When Steve realized that the children were being purchased for $2,000 – $3,000 he realized that we in the western world spend that amount on trivial things. But what if we could use that money to save an actual life? That’s when he decided to spend his own money to purchase children so that he could rescue them and bring them back to safety.

Since January 2015, with the help of generous donators, over a hundred children have been rescued and taken to a secure location in Northern Iraq where they receive food, shelter and medical care. They even offer assistance to relocate them and help rebuild their lives.

Unfortunately there are still thousand of woman and children that still need to be saved and the organisation Liberation CICY needs your donations so that they can help rescue even more of them.
