ISIS Victim: “They beat my children while I was raped”

A year ago, ISIS occupied parts of Iraq populated by Yazidi residents. They slaughtered the men and captured thousands of women and children. The women were raped and then sold as sex slaves; the children were forced to convert to Islam and to join the ranks of the murderous terrorist organization. “Ulpan Shishi” correspondent, Efrat Lechter met in Iraq the prisoners who managed to escape.

It is so quiet and beautiful on the Iraqi border. If it was wenty degrees cooler, it would even be pleasant. But this place is the valley of death. Within eight hundred meters is the border that separates us from ISIS land. It is a cruel land, saturated with oil that is mixed with blood, and it is a land which lost its boundaries in the midst of a satanic religious war.

Here children are being kidnapped, women are being sold as sex slaves, and each one has a price tag. Only a few survive this hell and even fewer get to be sold back to their families. We have arrived in the Kurdish Autonomous Area in Northern Iraq, where numerous kidnapped women fled. ISIS terrorists understood that kidnapping and rape in this area could be even worse than murder.  They turned it into a cruel and profitable industry with a turnover of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Lehli, age 23, is a mother of two sons who were kidnapped with her. She could not speak of her rape as long as her family was in the room. “ISIS sold me to three different people as a sex slave,” she told Channel 2 News after her family left the room. “They beat my kids while raping me. In the end, I lost my sanity, and a family of Arabs took me and sold me back to my family. The price was 30,000 dollars for the three of us.”

The organization that helps in releasing victims from ISIS custody is based in Canada. The money comes from donations from all over the world, which are being collected through an internet site. The organization acts to rescue kidnapped Yazidis and Christians.  The organization is headed by a Canadian Jew named Steve Maman. “We are Jews who went through the Holocaust’,” Maman explained to Channel 2 News. “Our people know what suffering means and what genocide means. I met Yazidis and Christians who were held captive by ISIS and I saw their pain.”

The holocaust of the Yazidi people is taking place for over a year now and the world remains indifferent. On the slopes of the mountain, just above Sinjar, remains a writing in stones saying:  “Help us.” No one dares to move it.
